Keetmanshoop - was originally named "Zwartmodderfontein “. The name was translated from Nama….. Guilliam Visagie who was the first white settler to have lived here….

Different permanent date stamps was in use. First permanent date stamp was used from 15.10.1895 to 1.12.1904.
During mid - 1900 there was a shortage of stamps in Keetmanshoop, and firstly bisected stamps was authorised, and finally a 2 line rubber stamp implemented.
